Ed Hardy Shoes and Accessories

I was looking through the Ed Hardy website and totally fell in love with their shoes and some of the other accessories. I'm not a huge fashion diva, but their shoes rock. The bright colors and designs of their shoes are really eye catching. Some of the shoes kind of remind me of the Converse high tops that I wore in the 80s. Not the same style of course, but the bright pinks and blues in the shoes took me for a short walk down memory lane. And yes I am guilty of wearing the converse that were pink on one side and blue on the other.

I also like the hand bags that I saw. I have been known to carry the same bag for a year or two, so I have to find one that I really like and one that will last. I have no way of knowing if the bags can last for as long as I would carry them, but I really did like the designs. I prefer smaller bags, because I don't carry a lot of things around with me. I'm thinking about trying one though, because they have some on sale right now that I like. And since this will be a trial run to see how long they can hold up, the fact that they are on sale makes them even more attractive. I think we all hate to spend a bunch of money on something that we have never tried before.

Living in a small town limits our shopping experiences. The internet has opened up a whole new world of shopping for me and I think I like it. It's great to be able to go online and find something that I like (especially if it's on sale) and buy it without ever leaving the house. No more spending hours looking around and then standing in line to try it on and pay for it. Technology is great!

Saving Money on a Miami Vacation

Taking a vacation is usually an expensive event. You can cut down the price by looking for cheap hotels and finding attractions that are offering specials or discounted promotional deals. A lot of time you can get a vacation package that will include airfare, hotel, attractions, and sometimes even meals. These packages are a great way to save money if they include things you would be doing on your vacation anyway.

Check with the local hotels to see what kinds of different packages they have. Or get in touch with a travel agent that can send you information and brochures from different hotels in the area. Going through the week is also a good way to save some money. Many hotels have higher rates on the weekends because these are their busier times. Be sure to ask about the varying rates that each hotel offers before you decide what will save you the most money.

Most of us eat out most of the time when we are on vacation. This is fine, but can be expensive if you eat every meal out. Get a hotel room that has a refrigerator. You can use it to keep drinks and sandwich meat in it. After spending the day at the beach or at the hotel pool, you can grab a quick sandwich instead of spending the money to eat out. If you do this for one meal a day, it can save you a lot of money depending on the size of your family.

Set a budget of an acceptable amount of money that you can afford to spend on your vacation. As you are planning the trip, keep up with the costs  and what you have left in the budget. Keeping up with the costs as you are planning the trip can help you stay within your budget.

You can have a fun adventurous vacation without emptying out your bank account. It just takes a little extra time and effort as you create the vacation plan.

10 Diaper Changing Tips for Men

For years women were always the caretakers when it came to the kids. Times have changed and men are sharing more of the responsibility of parenting. Sadly, many men still have problems when it comes time to change a diaper. They need a little extra training in this area of parenting.

So here are a few tips to help all you guys out there on your next diaper changing adventure.

1.  Get all the supplies you will need together before you begin to change the diaper.

2.  Be prepared for a mid-change accident, especially if the baby is a boy. Keep the little rascal covered just in case. Cause when he has to go, there is no holding back, he's just going to go!

3.  If you are diapering a newborn, don't forget to take the steps needed to care for the umbilical cord stump.

4.  Changing a toddler's diaper can be difficult sometimes. They often don't want to be still long enough to get their diaper changed. Choose an area that is as distraction free as possible. If you are changing them on a couch or bed, you need to keep a hand on them at all times to prevent them from falling.

5.  Make sure you put the diaper on the right way. Having the diaper on backwards won't give as much protection for the little one.

6.  Be gentle.Twisting a baby into a pretzel just to change their diaper is not a good thing.

7 .Don't forget to remove the toilet paper from your nose and trash it after the diaper is changed.

8.  Running away when you see what is in the diaper is not an option.

9.  Spraying the baby's butt off with the kitchen sink sprayer is not a shortcut.

10. A Hazmat suit is not proper diaper changing attire.

Grandma's Cooking Brings Families Together

My Grandma passed away almost twenty years ago, but I can still remember her being in the kitchen cooking. She didn't just cook once or twice a week, she cooked almost everyday. Her meals were homemade, not the stuff that you get out of a can or from a box. Most of the vegetables she cooked came from a jar that she had canned herself. I can still smell the beans cooking and taste the salmon patties that she always made to go with them.

Today we opt for the easy way out when it comes to preparing meals. And yes, I admit I am guilty of this too. Why cook homemade lasagna when I can get a pan of it already put together, and then all I have to do is throw it in the microwave or the oven. Its simple and it is way quicker than doing it myself. The sad part about this is that most of us are depriving our kids of the experiences that we had as children. When was the last time you went to Grandma's house and everyone sat down and ate a home cooked meal at the same time? This was a common occurrence in my childhood, and something that my kids have only experienced a handful of times usually on a holiday.

We live our lives in the fast lane, and try to do everything as quickly as we can using any short cut that is available. That is all well and good most of the time, but we need to be thinking of the family time and the memories that we could make for our family just by having a meal together once a month. I don't want my kids growing up and looking back on their childhood without remembering some quality family time that we shared.

So this weekend, I am going to cook. Yes, you heard that right, and I'm sure the Fire Department will be on stand by just in case they are needed! The menu will consist of soup beans, cornbread, salmon patties, and fried potatoes. I know that may not be the healthiest meal that I could cook, but it would make Grandma proud.

Saving Money on Baby Products

Having a baby is an exciting time in the lives of the parents. That excitement can often be overshadowed by the dent it makes in our wallets though. Saving just a small amount of money on some of the baby products that are used the most, can add up to some hefty savings over time.

Products like diapers, baby wipes, baby formula, baby food, and many other things that are needed for a baby can be expensive. Many of the brands offer coupons and promotional deals on their websites. Coupons for these products can also be found in newspapers or may be included in other advertisements like coupon books, or parenting magazines.

The parents should always keep a look out for coupons and deals for the products that they use on their babies. This gets you in the habit of bargain hunting, and that will help you rack up a lot of savings over the years.

Obviously deals like buy one get one free or half on will grab your attention, but saving thirty or forty cents can also be a great deal when it happens consistently. If you use a combination of coupons that save you two dollars a week on things that you have to buy anyway, in a year you have saved $104. That doesn't sound like much but after 5 years, you have amassed a savings of $520. It may seem small, but it adds up over time.

Becoming a parent should put you in automatic bargain hunting mode, but if it doesn't, don't fret. You can make it a habit by doing it on a consistent basis. Then before you know it, you will be clipping coupons without even thinking about it. This doesn't just apply to baby products, you can save money by using coupons for any of the everyday items that your family uses.

Choosing the Right Baby Stroller

Choosing a baby stroller sounds simple enough, right? Well there is actually more to it if you want to get a stroller that will fit in with the activities of your family. There are several things that you should look at before you make that final purchase.

Safety Features

Check the different brands of strollers to find out if there have been any recalls on their strollers. This can give you a heads up about their overall safety.

Make sure the stroller has a secure safety harness.

Make sure that all of the wheels touch the ground so that the stroller is not going to tip over easily. Also check to see if the wheels have safety locks on them. These keep the stroller from rolling when you aren't moving.

Check the stroller thoroughly for any sharp edges or spaces that are wide enough to where the baby could fall through them. Babies are constantly moving and exploring and this will continue while they are in the stroller.

Family Activities

Many of the modern baby strollers are made for specific activities. If you are a jogger, you can get a stroller that it made specifically for you to puc\sh as you jog. So consider what activities you will be doing while you have the baby in the stroller and purchase a stroller that is suited for those activities.

Number of Small Children

If you have more than one small child, then you should get a stroller that will accomodate more than one baby. I had twins, and let me tell you, the two seated stroller was a big asset when I had to go anywhere.

Budget

Baby strollers can be purchased at various prices. Choose the stroller that fits what you need and fits into your budget. Don't be afraid to shop around and find the best price.

If you take the time to research before you purchase a baby stroller, it will benefit you in the end. Saving you time, money and hassles down the road.

Fashion Designer Betsey Johnson Blows Me Away

I'm not normally into fashion all that much, but lately I have been looking at designs by some fashion designers. I have to admit that Betsey Johnson is my favorite by far. I'm a sweat pants and t-shirt kind of girl, but I still love her designs. The unique style that she brings to her fashion line is awesome. It takes me back to funner times in my life, when I was way more carefree than I am today.

She has pretty much any thing you would need available through her fashion line. Her line includes dresses, apparel, intimate apparel, handbags, shoes, jewelery, swimwear, and other accessories. So whether you are looking for a watch or a prom dress, you can just about bet that she will have a one-of-a-kind item that will fit your needs.

I don't consider myself to be much of a girly girl, but I love her dresses. The colors and the style remind me of the 80s, which was pretty much the funnest time in my life or ever, in my opinion. Looking at some of the dresses reminds me of how Madonna dresses in a few of her earlier videos. The fashion in the 80s was great because people got to be creative, and pretty much anything could be turned into a fashion statement during that time.

It's funny how as we get older it becomes harder to adapt to new styles and trends. Just as we get accustomed to a new trend, it suddenly changes. As teenagers we could just go with the flow, now we see sudden changes as an annoyance that we try to avoid. I guess that is why Betsey Johnson has caught my eye, because looking at many of her designs brings back the great memories of my childhood. It's nice to have those memories brought up every now and then.

Fashionably Punk Styles

Many teens and young adults are into the punk fashion style. These kids are in that independent and often rebellious stage where they want to show their creativity through the clothes that they wear. In some cases this is a fashion choice that is based on the fact that they know that their parents will HATE it!  Regardless of the reason for the choice to dress punk, this style continues to be nery popular.

Dressing punk gives you many options to use your creativity. You can mix and match (or not match if that's your choice) just about anything to create a punk style that is unique for you. The versatility allows you to add our own special touch to create a style of your own.

Trends in punk fashion are constantly changing, but there are many things that have stayed the same over the years. Band T-shirts, studded belts or jewelery, high top tennis shoes like Converse, and of course the punk hairstyles have remained standard in the punk fashion world for many years.

There are several notable designers that are stand-outs in the world of punk fashion. These include fashion designers Betsey Johnson, Vivienne Westwood, and Jean Paul Gaultier. These designers often use punk styles in their designer fashions. Many magazines and other media outlets spotlight punk fashion and hairstyles in their works.

So whether you want to mix leather and lace, or skulls and hearts, the punk style will give you the freedom to do just that without the fear of being judged by your peers. But don't expect everyone to understand your need for uniqueness and creativity. You can expect to get some weird looks from people who just don't get what you are trying to achieve in choosing to dress this way. But that's okay, do what makes you comfortable and let others think what they want.

Choosing the Jeans that Best Enhance your Body Type

How many times have you heard, "do these jeans make my butt look too big?" We all want jeans that make our booty look better, not worse. Everyone has a different shape and size, so luckily jeans also come in many different shapes and sizes. So choose that denim wisely ladies, so you don't have to ask the dreaded big butt question.

This is such a common question, that some jeans stores have installed cameras so that you can see yourself from every angle when you try on jeans. This way you can see for yourself how they look, and don't have to ask someone else their opinion, and then wonder if they told you the truth. All jeans are different and the sizes are different on each brand. Be sure to try the jeans on before you buy them. Make sure the fit is comfortable as well as looks good. This will save you from getting home and finding out that they aren't the jean for you.

Choose a style of jeans that is flattering to your specific body type. Just because your size 2 friend looks great in skinny jeans, doesn't mean that the same style will look flattering on your body type. If you are on the heavier side, a medium width, straight or slightly boot cut leg jean will probably be the place to start when shopping for jeans. If you find a pair that fit well and look great, gbe sure to grab more than one pair. Choose a few pair in different shades of denim.

Jeans are versatile and can often be worn to work or out on the town. You can wear them with tennis shoes, flats, or even heels. What you wear with them can make the jeans more business like, or straight up sexy! That is what makes jeans so great!

Choosing the Perfect Wedding Dress for Your Special Day

As a girl, I have spent most of my life daydreaming about my perfect wedding. I was married at an early age, and was in too much of a hurry to get married to really care what kind of wedding that I had at that point, even though I already had my dream wedding planned out in my head. Twenty years and a divorce later, I still want that dream wedding and my dream wedding dress.

I'm not all into the big frilly ballgown wedding dresses. I want a simple, but beautiful wedding dress. I am also not a skinny girl, so I will choose a dress that is more flattering to my body type, because we all want to look as beautiful as possible on our wedding day. Back when I was married the first time, there were not many choices available for plus size women. Now the options are pretty much endless no matter what size or body type that you have.

Wedding dresses these days are available for pretty much any style wedding that you want to have. You want to look like Cinderella and feel like a princess on your wedding day? You can find a dress that will totally fit your needs. Even if you decide to have a theme wedding, there are plenty of options available for theme wedding dresses.

The best advice that anyone can give you, is o take your time picking out the dress. Shop around and look at the different styles and prices that are available from different stores. Picking out your dress too soon will usually lead to finding a dress that you like a lot better within a few days of the purchase. So don't jump and buy anything too quick.

Your wedding day is a day that you will remember forever, so take the time to get everything as perfect as possible. Otherwise you will spend the rest of your life looking back and wishing that you had done things differently.
