As most people know by now, Diff'rent Strokes actor, Gary Coleman passed away on May 28, 2010. He supposedly suffered a fall in his home that led to him being admitted to a Utah hospital, where he later went into a coma and was placed on life support. Hours after finding out that he was on life support, we were told that his wife, Shannon Price elected to have the life support shut off and that he had passed away.
I have sat back and watched the story of Gary Coleman's death unfold. And I gave Shannon Price the benefit of the doubt. I try not to judge people because most of the time we only have a small part of the actual facts, and I am a strong believer in the fact that "there are 2 sides to every story". But as this story progresses, I will admit that I truly believe that Shannon Price played a major role in his death. Obviously, with her decision to stop life support, that is considered a major role, but that is not what I mean. First we get the release of the Gary Coleman 911 call where Shannon Price is grossed out by the blood and too sick to do anything to help her "supposed" husband. Now we have pictures of Shannon Price posing next to her dying husband as he lays in a hospital bed on life support, which she knew would be removed soon.(again at this point we all still believed she was his wife) She planned this photo shoot so that she had some photos that she could sale and make money on after he was dead. Seriously, whoe even thinks of that kind of stuff when they are dealing with the thought of a loved one possibly dying?I don't like blood either and will admit that a lot of blood grosses me out. But I had someone that I cared about who sliced their wrist in front of me and at that point I can honestly say that I did not give a crap about the blood. I was more focused on doing what I needed to do in order to stop the bleeding and get help there quick. Her actions from the beginning have been suspect and at this point my opinion is swaying towards thinking that the "so-called fall" may not have been an accident. She knew in the hospital that she had no authority over making any decisions in regard to Gary Coleman's medical condition, yet she kept the fact that they were divorced a secret and led the hospital staff to believe that she was indeed his wife. Why did she need to make the medical decisions so quickly? Because she knew if the fact that they were divorced got out that she would not be able to take him off of life support! I enjoyed watching Gary Coleman when I was young, and even though he had many problems as an adult, he is still a human being that does not deserve this type of treatment. I truly hope that law enforcement take a long hard look at his death and that at some point Gary Coleman can truly be allowed to rest in peace.
