Glee Mania has Taken the World by Storm

Glee is now in it's second season on Fox, and the fans are still following the show diligently. Glee fans call themselves "Gleeks", a combination of the words geek and glee. This comedy series about the Glee club has built up quite a following for a new series.

There have been three Glee albums released and they have each made there way to the top of the charts. The album, "Glee Season One: The Music Volume 1" made it to number four on the Billboard 200 in November, Volume 2 hit number three the next month, and the latest album released, Glee: The Power of Madonna debuted in the number one spot this week. The Madonna album has already sold over 98,000 copies, with seventy-five percent of those being purchased through internet retailers.

Most of us can remember what it was like to be in high school. Trying to find a position in the high school social scene that was filled with different cliques. These groups had stipulations of who could enter, and many of us never attained entry into the most popular groups. Not because we weren't worthy, but because our parents didn't have the right job, or we didn't have the right kind of clothes. This makes Glee a show that people can relate to easily. The show is also very funny. It has great music, and an amazing cast.

The second season of Glee began on April 13, 2010 with an estimated 13.7 million viewers. Many of these viewers are self-proclaimed "gleeks" that follow the show religiously. The fact that Glee follows the Fox hit reality show, American Idol, has probably helped the show pick up some extra viewers here and there as well. But the cult like following of the fans will help keep this show around for quite a while.

Glee has been accepting fan audition videos on their Myspace page. This was such a popular concept that they have reopened auditions for a  one day encore. The auditions reopened on April 28th and will close at 1:59am PT on April 29th. If you want to submit your audition video, there is still time if you hurry!

If you haven't watched the show yet, now is a great time to check it out. The first season was a short one, and season two has just begun so you aren't too far behind on what has gone on during the show. The show airs on Fox every Tuesday night at 9, after American Idol.
